Fusion NASCAR finally sees track time

The Ford Fusion NASCAR racecar finally saw some track time at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Tuesday with Dale Jarret behind the wheel. The event was part of the car's approval process for entry into next year's NASCAR season. Ford representatives were said to be pleased with the car's performance, with Jarret himself commenting that it seemed better balanced than the Taurus-inspired racecar it's replacing. NASCAR's approval process is designed to ensure that competitors field cars with relatively equal power and performance, thus making the drivers the X-factor that wins races. Afterwards the Fusion racecar was taken to the Lockheed Corp. wind tunnel in Marietta, GA for aerodynamic testing.
