Things were a little different in the late Sixties and early Seventies when the Baldwin-Motion partnership sold some serious Chevys stuffed with big block power. They marketed their own versions of Chevrolet's Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, and Corvette. Well, Motion LLC is bringing back the concept with an exclusive batch of tube-framed Camaros. The Baldwin-Motion Camaro SuperCoupe will be a custom built monster featuring a huge 8.8-liter aluminum big block V8, Viper rear-end, Baer brakes, and even rack-and-pinion steering. We're expecting it to be a racecar under a Camaro body, with maybe a touch of luxury on the interior. We're certain that for OVER $100,000 this is one serious machine.

On the issue of replica muscle cars, there was an article in Hot Rod a couple years ago about how Year One teamed up with another company to produce a completely new Camaro body. It was supposed to be the start of a new trend to bring the replicar industry to the popular muscle car era. They even planned on producing a Mustang and a Barracuda. I suppose the licensing issues around the replicas were never resolved because I have not be able to find out any more information since I saw that article.
