Hurricane Katrina offers RV industry an opportunity to help
The RV industry has been plagued with poor sales
recently, due to rising interest rates and soaring fuel costs, which has left high inventory levels at the factories and on dealer lots. But when Hurricane Katrina left hundreds of thousands (or more) without a place to live, the industry has suddenly found new demand for its products. A local dealer is swamped with over a normal year's worth of new orders in the past week, as it prepares to send 900 trailers down south. One of the larger problems right now is getting the RVs to the disaster area, so if you're looking for ways to help, it might not be a bad idea to contact your local RV dealer to see if they need drivers or tow vehicles.
