PHR's list of Nine Cars You Need To Build
Hot-rodding magazines have recently gotten into the habit of running articles on suggested oddball projects as a way of breaking the logjam of first-gen Camaro and tri-five Chevy street machines. Popular Hot Rodding has just run its latest, suggesting build-ups of (nearly) forgotten starting points such as the 1973 Chevrolet Laguna, 1981 Chrysler Imperial, and Lincoln MarkVIII. While I'm not really a Ford guy, I'd like to find a Lincoln LS V6/manual, and then swap in a '03 Mustang Cobra motor and transmission. A lower-dollar approach might involve a warmed-over 5.0 and a Tremec TKO (swapping in the older engine brings about some emissions compliance issues, though). Do we have any Autoblog readers working on project cars that are a bit "out there"? How about just some ideas? If so, we'd love to hear about them in the Comments section.
