NASCAR and United Way team up for charity eBay auctions

The United Way is putting on a pretty nifty promotion that involves auctioning off not just tickets to the United Way 300 NASCAR race at the Kansas Speedway on October 8th, but the chance to be a part of the race in a whole bunch of ways. You can bid on the honor of presenting the trophy to the driver that takes the checkered flag, being a co-Grand Marshall of the race, waving the green flag to begin the race, or having your name painted on the #1 Yellow Transportation/United Way car. You can even bid to be the person who waves the green flag to start the race.

Folks are already bidding on the many ticket and hospitality packages available, while the bigger auctions, none of which go for more than $5,000 if bought outright, have yet to attract a bidder. Bid with charitable confidence as the eBay auction site states plainly that 100% of the winning bids go to the United Way.
