MINI premieres new concept in Tokyo

MINI is launching this new, British-themed interpretation of the classic Mini Traveller at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Japan is the fifth biggest market for MINI, after the U.K., the U.S., Germany and Italy.
The show car is based on new concepts for access and storage, and features a new roof and cargo box system, a new
interior green color scheme, new alloy wheels and indicator lights displaying the Union Jack.
The roof system houses a table and two chairs for impromptu picnics, and the cargo box in the rear of the car can be
taken out and attached to the side window when open to create a table.
MINI thinks the car is perfect for picnics and cricket matches with tea and scones - sort of a British version of the
American tailgate party. But somehow I just can't see this setup in the parking lot before the next NFL game.
