It's a Civic kind of world
Well, it sure seems that way at this year's SEMA show. As the lead manufacturer for this year's extravaganza, Honda sponsored a tidal wave of custom Civic Si's, some of which are shown here on display at Honda's booth. (We're making liberal use of press release cut-n-paste to get this out to you ASAP, so bear with us!)
First up is the 2006 AEM/DC Sports Civic Si, built to compete in a series of road racing track events including the up and coming Time Attack events. AEM claims this Civic Si features a 400 horsepower engine thanks to a custom turbo installation using a DC Sports exhaust system, Garrett GT28RS turbocharger, Wiseco pistons and RC Engineering injectors. An Advanced Clutch Technologies flywheel and clutch transfer power to the ground. Suspension enhancements include Eibach springs and anti-roll bars, SPC Performance control arms and Tokico shocks. Next up is the K&N 2006 Civic SiR project. According to K&N (the filter people), it?s designed to appeal to enthusiasts with a custom 4-piece body kit, made by Import Trenz, designed by Kristina Biane, and painted by M1 Autobody of El Monte, CA. The SiR Project consists of Volk Racing wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires, an Edelbrock Nitrous System, and full audio components from Eclipse Audio and Stinger Electronics.
The Mackin Industries Civic Si wins my ?Wing of the Week? award, hands down. The company imports aftermarket parts from around the world, and this car showcases Mackin?s performance accessories for the new Civic Si, including ARC?s Super Induction box radiator, plug cover and oil catch tank. A J?s Racing special valve cover and oil cap dress up the engine compartment, and an Espelir exhaust system adds a sporty touch to the rear. A J?s Racing coilover system lowers the car onto its RAYS Volk Racing TE37 wheels and Yokohama Parada tires. Seibon?s carbon fiber hood and trunk are complemented by a J?s Racing body styling kit and wing. Inside, an ARC shift knob, Sparco seats, racing harnesses and steering wheel round out the mods.
