CAW to suppliers - don't expect to get Delphi-like agreement
One can safely assume that other suppliers will be looking to put a squeeze on their labor ranks in the same way Delphi has done recently with its troops. The CAW has stepped up and basically said, "Don't bother asking." This sets up an interesting question - will smaller auto suppliers be more or less vulnerable to labor strife than a company the size of Delphi? It's something worth thinking about, because it doesn't take a lack of too many "minor" components before it becomes very difficult to build and ship automobiles, so very localized labor disruptions here and there could basically shut down production in North America for days or weeks at a time.
