Is that a sense of *style* we see in the '08 Malibu?

Popular Mechanics
has some new info on the 2008 Chevy Malibu, which seems to take a different styling direction than anything we're used to from the Bowtie brand. Popular Mechanics suggests GM is taking a page from Toyota and Honda's book in styling, while the folks on the AutoWeek forum think it looks more like a Kia. Regardless of how you feel about it, you have to admit it's different than the current car. The swooping roofline (check out the decklid), beefy fenders and sharp nose indicate a different direction from the "blah" mid-size car we've all come to know.
Thanks to Tim for the tip. Drawing belongs to Popular
