Chrysler expands its push into Europe

Chrysler is dramatically expanding its marketing efforts in Europe, opening more dealers and introducing more
diesel-engined models.
Chrysler's head of international sales and marketing promised to increase the number of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge
dealers by 20 percent in the next two years, and to triple the number of diesel models offered by 2007 or 2008.
About half of Chrysler's sales outside North America are in Western Europe, totalling about 90,000 vehicles this
year.
Next year, Chrysler plans to introduce the Dodge brand to Europe, with the Caliber hatchback and Nitro SUV models. It
will also launch the Jeep Commander and Compass models in Europe next year, alongside the redesigned Wrangler.
