GM makes its own E85 splash in Chicago
Not to be outdone in the green PR blitz by Ford and its "Ethanol Corridor," GM announced its own gas pump conversion program, teaming up with Shell Oil and VeraSun Energy to add 26 E85 pumps to stations in the greater Chicago area.
But wait, there's more... GM is making a major ethanol splash (couldn't resist) in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with today's unveiling of its Corn Fed Flex Fuel Silverado (shown above) for driver Dennis Setzer. The corn-encrusted pickup carries GM's "Live Green Go Yellow" E85 campaign colors, as well as the number 85, just in case we didn't get the message. GM is also sponsoring the opening race of the 2006 NCTS championship - the FlexFuel 250. NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Tony Stewart will also carry the Flex Fuel message (no pictures yet).
