98-99 Audi A6's recalled "just in case"
Audi Canada is recalling 2,432 A6's made between 1998 and 1999 equipped with the 2.8L
V6. Apparently when driving at a steady rate of speed for extended periods of time through the north pole (or any
other place that subjects your engine bay to -15C) the throttle linkage will freeze and cause unintended
acceleration. Translation: if you do not possess the intelligence to shift into neutral or apply the
brakes, your ass is grass. Audi will be repairing this flaw free of charge though no injuries or accidents
have been attributed to this concern. It's refreshing for a change to see a big automaker own up to its
mistakes.
