AWD crazy Ford buyers
It seems Ford didn't quite guess the correct number of potential AWD buyers in the market for a new large sedan or crossover. The popularity of the option on the Ford Five Hundred, Freestyle sport wagon and Mercury Montego has dealers at a loss and out of stock. Something they probably haven't been accustomed to outside of the new Mustang. The problem is since the AWD system is supplied by a Swedish company Ford can't just snap its fingers for more AWD systems. Sales of the AWD models is up to 25 percent, that's 10 percent higher than originally anticipated. With the Freestyle that number rises to 55 percent.
