Since recalls are social creatures that like to travel in packs, it should be no surprise that we've got a couple more to announce today. Hyundai will be recalling approximately 36,000 2006 Sonata sedans because the seat belt can hang up on seatback recline adjustment levers, which then could lead to a loss of proper posture and an increased chance of back pain later in life. It could also cause a loss of control, according to NHTSA. I've yet to sit in one of the new Sonatas, but I believe the picture to the right shows the recline adjustment lever located right where the lap belt crosses over the outside corner of the seat. Maybe the belt gets caught underneath it. Can anyone verify this assumption? Land Rover will recall about 17,000 LR3 sport-utility vehicles to repair a potentially faulty gas tank. This problem could lead to a loss of expensive fuel. Jeep is under investigation for a problem with the 2002 Liberty seat belts, but no official recall has been announced as of yet.
