Audi confirms A3 convertible
Just as Audi begins selling its new A3 hatchback in the U.S. comes news that it has committed to introducing a
convertible version in Europe by early 2007. Inside Line
reports that the cabrio will be based on the
next generation A3, which will use the sixth gen. Golf platform. It will share no body panels with the current A3, have
a fabric top and this computer-generated illustration shows it wearing an upside down Audi grille that flares at the
bottom. If the A3 catches on in the States, don't be surprised to see its topless sister on our shores in no
time.
