Auto Express photoshops SAV, says it's the new Mondeo
On the cover of this week's Auto Express is an interpretation of the 2007 Ford Mondeo taken directly from a PR photo of Ford's SAV concept shown in Geneva. Ford did mention to the press that the SAV was the future of Ford of Europe's design face and AE took them very literary. One other word of note, unlike the Contour and Mystique that shared platforms with the past Mondeo, Ford North America used the CD3 platform that underpins the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, while the new Mondeo will be sourced from Ford's PAG group offerings like the Volvo S60 and Jaguar S-type replacements (the current Mondeo is the basis of the X-Type). Word is we will find out for sure at the 2006 Paris Motor Show when it is set to debut.
