Saab outlines big plans for going upscale
Saab officials outlined some hefty plans for increasing its presence in the luxury market yesterday, according to a report in the Detroit News. Among the proposed changes are adding two vehicles to the brand's lineup, doubling its sales by 2010 and doing a big-time advertising blitz. One of the two vehicles will be a 7-passenger SUV, although plans for that have been "delayed" due to the loss of Subaru as a partner. Originally, the Saab 7-seater was slated to be a 2007 model based on the Tribeca. There are also plans to replace the 9-2x, which shared its platform with the Impreza.
