Saleen S281 gets new roof and more oomph for 2006
We heard about these changes being made to the Saleen S281 for the 2006 model year sometime last week, but our request for pics of the car's new "scenic roof" went unanswered. The "scenic roof" is basically a moonroof that extends from the windshield all the way to the back window. Above is a pic of the S281 from Inside Line, although the roof isn't visible so it's not clear whether we're looking at an '05 or '06 model. In addition to the new transparent top, the S281 also gets a boost in power for its supercharged 4.6L V8 from 400 to 435 ponies. The non-SC version also gets a 5-hp boost to 330 hp. Saleen's website has also yet to be updated with the new 2006 model years specs and pics.
