Scott Speed joins Red Bull F1 team for 2006
In the run-up to this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing
announced that it has extended its contract with the promising American driver. The 22 year-old Californian will become
a team test driver for the 2006 season. Scott drove the team's third (test) car at this year's U.S. and Canadian GPs,
and is currently running third in the GP2 series. He is also the lead driver for the U.S. A1GP team.
Scott is the best-known product of the Red Bull Driver Search, the
energy drink company's program to discover the next American F1 driver.
