Tower Auto employees threaten strikeThe union employees of bankrupt supplier Tower Automotive are showing strong indications that they will strike if the company is successful in voiding its labor contract. Over the weekend, workers at 8 plants voted to approve the strike if Tower's court filing to void its labor contract and "modify retirement benefits" (AKA Kiss Your Pension Goodbye) is allowed by the bankruptcy court on Feb. 27th.

The Detroit News reports that the Tower situation could be a preview of a tough union stand at Delphi. In any event, a work stoppage at Tower would threaten a significant amount of production in North America. Stay tuned to see how this plays out, for it will be an interesting ride.
