Toyota announces Scion tC "Special Service Campaign"
If you drive a tC, keep the moonroof closed for a while. Toyota is launching a voluntary Special Service Campaign to
upgrade the moonroof wind deflector on some 2005 and early 2006 Scion tC sport coupes.
The original glass wind deflector, which tilts upwards into the airstream when the moonroof is open, can be damaged by
impact from road debris at highway speeds. In some cases, the deflector can shatter and pieces can fall into the
passenger compartment. Only three such cases have been reported to the NHTSA.
Affected vehicle owners will be notified of the voluntary, no charge serviece upgrade to the deflector beginning in
late October.
