UK to get green Focus
Add this to the list of cool Ford Europe cars that you can't get.
Autocar reports that the bioethanol
powered Focus FFV (flexible fuel vehicle) will be available in the UK by early 2006. The 123bhp car is said to produce
70 percent less carbon dioxide than it's gasoline fueled sibling, and runs on gasoline or 85 percent ethanol. Fleet
sales only, pending wider UK availability of bioethanol.
No word if the whizzy eco-graphics are standard equipment.
105 octane, or "E85" as the fuel is know in the U.S., is typically priced about the same as 87 octane unleaded,
although its pricing structure is a complex web of tax incentives, raw material pricing and good ol'
what-the-market-will-bear profits. More info here.
