Volvo, Land Rover to perform recalls
Recall wallflowers Volvo and Land Rover have both announced "campaigns" on their products. In the case of Land
Rover, the company will be servicing 2,000 vehicles for a defective transmission component that prevents the park pawl
from fully engaging. The consequences of this shouldn't need to be explained. No word yet as to whether we'll see Range
Rover drivers carrying wheel chocks. The recall affects 2006 models of the LR3, Range Rover, and Range Rover
Sport.
Volvo will be recalling the XC90 and S80
for an engine-wiring problem that could, in the worst case, start a fire. I'm not sure what the lesser consequences
are, but they likely involve things such as a sudden loss of power, or at least foul underhood odors.
