Volvo returns to U.S. road racing in 2006

German Volvo tuner HEICO SPORTIV has announced that it will support U.S.-based Riley Racing in the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car series in 2006. The team will run a HEICO-modified Volvo S40 T5, driven by Jameson Riley.

Riley will also join the HEICO SPORTIV team for the Nurburgring 24-hour race in June. In Nurburgring trim the S40's 5-cylinder turbo engine provides 355 hp. The SPEED World Challenge version of the car is shown above.

In 2005, Riley drove one of At Speed Motorsports' Volvo S60Rs in the SWC GT class.
