Why people buy new cars
The American International Automobile Dealers Association has an
excellent website. A recent column by Marty Bernstein breaks down some interesting
numbers from a recent survey exclusive to the site, about the top 14 (why 14?) reasons people buy new cars. We won't
ruin the surprise for you, but go check it out. More
interesting to me were the top car brands being considered for purchase. The top four started with Toyota. No surprise
there. But next was Volkswagen (wha?), then Ford and last was a tie between Lexus and Buick (double wha?). Props to
AIADA for going out and hiring someone to poll 7,000 people for these numbers.
