Windows Automotive 5.0 debuts
Our sister blog, Engadget, reported yesterday that Microsoft has released a new version of its Windows Automotive operating system that's used on embedded car computers. This news doesn't mean much to the average person on the street who enjoys driving cars more than developing software for them, but the new OS supposedly makes life a lot easier for companies like Clarion, Alpine and Pioneer, all three of which already have plans for audio products and GPS systems built around the software. Plus, we had to link Engadget's post if for no other reason than to introduce our readers to the scary thought of what would happen if Microsoft made cars.
