eBay Find of the Day: 1956 Wright Special
A week or so ago, we showed you the , a pretty dream car realized through one man's vision and hands. Well, this week we bring you another such 'special' -- this one geared more towards racing than cruising. It also appears to need quite a bit more work, but the upside looks promising.
The owner says he has more than a dozen period trophies for this So-Cal special from the 1950's, along with various records and vintage Car Craft and Hot Rod magazines in which it appeared.
Dubbed the 'Wright Special,' its bespoke aluminum bodywork clothes a Chevrolet V8 with LaSalle transmission and Ford rear end, so our guess (and the documentation) point to a pretty serious performer for its era.
A full restoration is in order, after which vintage racing and perhaps a few shows will be in order. Takers? She's already at $10,700 with more than 4 days left on the eBay ticker as this is written, so someone out there in auction-land evidently sees the potential in this unique one-off racer. If the winning bidder happens to see this, let us know when the Wright's right.
